Position Overview:

The HMEI Informatics Analyst will support the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer with monitoring and reporting activities for grant-supported projects in the southeast region. Under the general supervision of the Monitoring & Evaluation Lead and Officer, the incumbent will play a vital role in PIH's project monitoring in coordination with County Health Teams (CHT) M&E team by conducting data collection, entry and cleaning of data from the Ministry of Health and PIH's Community Health, Clinical and training teams. S/he will ensure data collection and entry is timely, accurate and complete for quarterly data reviews and reporting. The HMEI Analyst's involvement will contribute to the departments' commitment to generating quality evidence on our programming and impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Mentors staff entering data in the various ledger at the health facilities.
  •  Accompany the CHT M&E team in daily collection of data and compiling for monthly reporting
  •  Support DHOs to prepare district quarterly review meetings to discuss program progress and challenges at district level
  •  Participate in County TWG monthly and QPRM
  •  Provide analytic support including analyses of monitoring data, analysis of other data routinely collected by the programs, preparation of reports
  •  Providing data analytic support for research projects associated to the grants
  •  Participate in the interpretation and utilization of M&E data to improve systems and programs
    • Support CHT to develop and update county capacity development plan based on results from capacity assessments and other data sources
    •  Coordinate and provide technical review of all capacity building activities at the county level, lead knowledge management of PIH support to CHT, and manage internal transition strategy for the County.
    •  Provide capacity-building support to the CHT at the health facilities in data entry in ledgers and other reporting tools.
    •  Support DHIS2 data quality improvement activities
    •  Can be assigned any other duty.

    Competency Profile:

    The key competencies required for the position of M&E Informatics Analyst: Academic qualification:

    o Bachelor of Science ,Bachelor in Data analysis, Bachelor in Health information and technology, Bachelor in Statistics, Bachelor in Epidemiology.

    Experience and Expertise

    Technical Competencies

    o Minimum 3 years' experience in monitoring and evaluation , data collection and data analysis.

    o Experience in training on technical M&E content

    o Ability to utilize and troubleshoot M&E tools, surveys, surveillance systems, and evaluations;

    o Data analysis skills including the use of statistical analytic packages (e.g. STATA, SAS; familiarity with R is a plus, Knowledge in Nvivo is a plus)

    o High competency using Microsoft Excel and other programs in the Microsoft suite;
